The opening track for "SOMD" - Originally an instrumental track, singer Howard Davis Kidd III had the idea to add sound clips from various celebrities to sum up his feelings of the current state of American society. The idea came to mind after listening to a rough demo of a Snipers of Babel track that included a helicopter sound and other small clips. Snipers of Babel is the main project of Oblivion Studios producer Mike Bossier, the man behind the mixing of the "SOMD" record.

I was not disappointed by the power, the riffs, the excellent vocal work ... all of it was top tier underground music. A great live capture of a band that exemplifies the best of stoner, doom, and psychedelic rock in the current age: all in one package. Picking a favourite song is hard because each song succeeds in nominating itself. I lean toward Enter the Zigurat, though. The production and mix are studio quality. Very clear & balanced. The band sound great live, too. Long jams to get lost in; great guitar, great vocals. Each instrument complements the others. No overshadowing. Thanks, ST! 8.5+/10. Alrihkh
